Grandma Chance is in t-r-o-u-b-l-e!

So, Andrew got this present from Mary Ellen and Bob and at first, he couldn't do much with the tricycle. Now however, his feet touch the ground, but not the pedals. Which presents a huge problem for Mr. Andrew because he wants to go...and go fast. So why is Grandma in trouble? Let's just say Andrew has more energy than Mom and Dad combined! We've resorted to hiding the tricycle in the guest bedroom;) Today if we stopped pushing or took him off the tricycle, he immediately started wailing as if the world ended-the tear tracks sort of show up in the picture. His psyche was only moderately damaged. Seriously though-he loves the trike-we take it out on the weekends and go all over the neighborhood!

3rd or 4th? haircut

Yesterday Andrew had another haircut with Richa! He always looks so grown up afterwards that it makes sad & happy all at once. The only way I could get a picture of him tonight was trapped in the highchair (yes that is a stem from one of the ornamental grass clumps)....Someone was having too much fun outside to cooperate much for photo ops! I included a before...and yes, that is Andrew on the coffee table-I'll spare you the video of his breakdance moves on said table;)

Valentines

In spite of canceling our original plans (going to Tulsa & a swanky hotel) due to our lovely weather, we still had a nice Valentine's Day. Danny kept me guessing, but I did get flowers-all the bright colors & different types that I love! I made Danny a basket of goodies-some clothes & snacks (you can never have too many Snickers)! We went out to eat w/Andrew *gasp* and he flirted w/everyone....and yelled a little, but it was noisy enough no one noticed. A couple of weeks ago I went to TX & finally picked up our buffet that Momma & Daddy got us for Christmas. The furniture store (after they bought it) had some financial problems w/owners & everything has been held up in investigations by police/banks....My Dad finally managed to get it out of the warehouse & we're using it in Andrew's room (it doesn't fit anywhere else-who knew w/a new house we would already be out of room!).

The first rule of sledding is you don't talk about sledding;)

This morning after Danny went in to work, I took Andrew out for his first sledding in the backyard-mainly so that he'd be used to it when Daddy got home. Danny's been dying to go down the hill outside our back fence, we just haven't had time & it's been way to cold to take Andrew out! Not that Andrew will be going down the hill-his dad may talk me into a supervised run, but that's only after I see what happens when Danny goes down;) Andrew seemed to like it, so this afternoon should be fun! I also tried my hand at some shots of the snowflakes built up on things-I obviously don't have the right camera for that stuff, but I think the choya didn't turn out too bad.

Snow days 2011

We've had quite a bit of snow the last couple of weeks. The first round wasn't all that much & I was able to take Andrew out on the sidewalk just to walk around in it a bit. This last round, however, really made us feel like a blizzard hit. The wind was so blustery-you had no idea if it was still snowing or if the wind was just rearranging snow we already had! The entire neighborhood had huge drifts, which meant that w/daycare closed, we were stuck inside....let's just say Andrew could have played hide and seek w/o much effort! After being trapped indoors for 2 days, Andrew started his escape plan...which primarily consisted of pulling books off lower shelves so that he could reach other shelves. Maybe he thought I had plans for snowshoes hidden up there *smile*?

christmas 2010 in stillwater

For Christmas Day, Dannys & my parents made it up to watch Andrew (again) rip bows off packages! My parents also brought a surprise present-the little chair I had when I was a little girl (so basically about 15 years ago;)! Andrew sat in it, well, not long at all-it was definitely like photographing a wild animal! I also got an early Christmas present-the mirror for the living room! I've put in a few pics of the hard workers & finished product;)

christmas 2010

So we got to spend Christmas in TX with my folks and William, Karen & the kids. It was great that Aunt Karen, Uncle Bob and Margaret could come to celebrate also. Andrew had the most fun ripping apart bows....the ones we made Aunt Karen save from the last time William & family came in-3 years ago, I think? She *loved* us for that!!

And a few more...

These are from Thanksgiving day-Andrew finally started walking more than a couple of steps again-He started walking on his birthday & then got really sick (stayed w/Grandma Chance for a few days) and it took almost 3 weeks before he got his strength back I guess.....He's been cruising ever since! He loves pushing his shopping cart (and chairs and boxes...;).

More pics from the marathon of updating;)

These are a few of our favorites from Andrew's 1 year session with Michelle-the weather cooperated long enough for us to visit the train tracks & an old barn for some outdoor shots.

3 months you say?

Ok, Ok, I haven't kept up w/the blog...at all. So, what's been happening? Just about everything! The day of my last post-Andrew had school pictures taken...and a trip to Urgent Care. Why? Because that afternoon, he fell off a wagon at daycare & hit his head on a baseboard. Shannon called because she was worried, said it was a big lump, but that he stopped crying after a couple of minutes, but she would feel better if I saw it. Let's just say that it's a good thing I was in public-huge goose egg was an understatement-I almost lost it when I saw him! The doctor said he was fine, but that we had to wake him every 2 hours, just in case....He did fine & somehow his hair covered the bruise for his 1 year photos w/Michelle (that were the saturday after the fall!) Andrew also turned 1 on November 3-had lots of family & friends to celebrate the day....and too many presents! The cakes turned out great! A coworkers wife made them (yes them!)...even though I'd just asked about a puppy cake to go along w/his invitation. I made all the rest of the decorations-I love crafts (and having the time to do them;). Other big news-Leah & Kirk had their 2nd daugher, Britton Abigail in November & we were honored to be her sponsers at the baptism. Leah's been posting pics (in between feedings) and both girls are just too adorable! We had a quiet thanksgiving-just Danny's parents, but Andrew finally decided to start walking again that day, so Bob was able to get some great snapshots! Danny got me the track lighting we both liked for my birthday present & the mirror I fell in love w/for Christmas! We also had an early Christmas present-my brother & his family came in from Georgia the 1st week of December. It was crazy funny how the kids followed Andrew around-at least I knew someone was close by;). both our parents came to the house for Christmas day-I'd decided the tree had to have ornaments, so I decorated it day before Christmas Eve-keeping them just out of andrew's reach! So, no promises, but I'll try and be more timely w/posts!
